Distance learning programs pave way for exponential growth in Indian educational sector

India is a developing country with over 70% of the population belonging to the middle class. Out of which, 80% of the population belong to the upper middle class. As the demand for higher education increases day by day, more and more people from middle class families, especially from the upper middle class are eager to learn more about technology and hence more students enrol for professional colleges which offer masters in computer applications. Computer education is one of the most demanding sectors in India with every 6 out of 10 Indians opting for higher education in technology.

As people from rural areas find it bit difficult to reside in metropolitan & tier 1 cities, several colleges are also offering numerous correspondence courses for masters in computer applications. These courses are also referred to as distance learning programs and hence Indian youth find it more comfortable. To make a revolutionary change in the methodology of learning processes in the developing world, several colleges have come up with the innovative idea of delivering valuable e learning programs like internet based courses, live virtual classes, interactive audio and video streaming classes, carrying out simulations and mentoring students on a shared virtual classroom. This helps both the companies and the students to save considerable time and space and helps to grow up to their potential. Tremendous opportunities exist in the untapped rural areas as online education is at it’s nascent stage in India. Awareness has to be created among the general public in terms of benefits & career aspects of online education. Job oriented vocational courses are being conducted in the field of master in computer applications which enables students to complete such courses in a stipulated time. Thus distance learning programs can bridge the gap between the students and the colleges which can mutually benefit on a long term basis.
